Oldest House

This is the current oldest house in the village, as shown in a 1977 greeting card. The back of the card reads, "The David Moger house has stood for many years as a landmark building ... Built on Main St., near Moger Ave. (then known as First Ave.), it was moved near the end of the nineteenth century to its present site ... David Moger was one of the early [village] land-owners. His 150 acres of property comprised much of what is the present-day downtown area. The cat, Hollybell, has been a resident of the house since 1972." In fact, the Moger House was moved twice from its original location. It was built in the 1840s.
