I found this photograph at the historical society today. The handwriting on the back is the same as that on the back of the photograph of the oldest house in the village in 1927, and reads: "This house was built before the Revolution and was at that time the Methodist Church. During the Revolution, soldiers were housed here, and the building was used as a hospital." The Methodist church in the village wasn't built until 1826, so this has to be another village. Does anyone recognize the house or its location?
